My Top 5 Inspirational Videos

On my iGoogle I have a little bookmarks application (called ‘Enhanced Bookmarks’) and on it I post videos that I have come across that are inspiring and motivational.  When I need a pick me up I will often watch them; actually for a while I was watching them right before starting work just to get me off on the right foot for the day.

So without further adieu:

#5 – BJ Penn RVCA Commercial

This commercial is very simple and tranquil, strong message, BJ Penn inspires me, he’s one of the best P for P fighters in the world.  The attitude of fighters always inspires me, they don’t stop, they work hard, they inspire discipline.  And on top of that, it features an awesome Talking Heads song called “This Must Be The Place.” (Bonus link to a MGMT cover of the song which is super cool)  Bonus quote: “Real fighters, inside their minds, to them, they are invincible and they will never stop” – Dana White

#4 – Fedor Highlights

Again with the fighting!  Fighters make good role-models.  Sportsmanship, masculinity, honour, respect, discipline.  Men are emasculated in this day and age, I personally spend more time watching The Hills than kicking ass, but I think there is something there that is lacking in modern society, the challenge, the hunt, the battle to the death.  Life is a battle to the death.

#3 – Nike – Destiny

I love this commercial.  Life doesn’t happen by accident or through luck.  Every appearance of a lucky break comes because of failure, practice and persistence.  As Malcolm Gladwell said it takes 10,000 hours to become a master.  You need to put in the work.

#2 – Michael Jordon – Failure

I was a huge fan of Michael Jordon growing up, I even wrote him a letter.  I got a letter back with a bumper sticker which I still have and treasure.  I had a Bulls t-shirt I would wear every day.  This video reminds me to keep going despite failure because it all contributes to your personal growth.  People who have not failed, have not tried anything hard.

#1 – Michael Jordon – Maybe It’s My Fault

This is a new one to me, but I think it sums up my entire philosophy.  “Maybe I made you believe my hightlights started at the freethrow line and not at the gym,” epic… You can’t watch this and not be inspired!  Thank you Michael Jordon, you are a true athlete and a role model.

I hope you enjoy!  For more blog posts follow me @5corpi0.  Have a nice day.
